Ms. Anupama (Roll No. 2010104) a Ph.D student from the Department of Biological Sciences has been awarded the Graduate Student Research Grant (GSR grant) from the American Society of Plant Taxonomists (ASPT) which will support her work on floral and plant volatiles in the plant family Zingiberaceae (gingers). 


Ms. Anupama Sekhar (Roll No. 2010104) a Ph.D student from the department of Biological Sciences has been awarded with the Heliconia Society International student grant to carry out floral volatile studies on Asian gingers.

 
 

Ms. Sukhraj (Roll No: Ph.D student from the department of Biological Sciences has been awarded with the ESEB Godfrey Hewitt Mobility Award 2023.


Ms. Sandhya (Roll no. 1920114) has received the best poster prize for her poster titled "Understanding the anti-phage defense arsenal in Mycobacterium smegmatis" in the recently concluded International Conference. It was held on 3-4th May 2023 at Miranda House, University of Delhi.

About Department

Department of Biological Sciences at IISER-Bhopal started functioning in August 2008 with the enrolment of the first batch of students for the BS-MS integrated course. The aim of the department is to foster knowledge in students pertaining to basic and advanced areas of biological sciences by not only pursuing both teaching and high-quality research but also through integrating biology with physics, chemistry and mathematics. The academic and research contributions of the faculties in this department have been recognized in the form of publications, projects, fellowships and awards.
